So…music happened

Me and the website ctebcm.com are trying to do our best to deliver exciting music that you just wanna talk about.

I usually don’t like making generalizations but lately life has been sitting next to me on the bus with bad b.o.

Right now there are more musicians than ever before, but instead of excavating their soul through the purging process of music, they want to capitalize on the industry side of it by designing online courses, creating aimless portfolios, doing cold calls, putting together sample libraries, giving lessons, and such things you can imagine to build their career. They do this because they view music as a competition to make the most money. To be fair that’s what capitalism is, but music is communal. It’s subtle and the only thing it’s meant to sustain is your heart.

There’s a memed maxim: “Repetition legitimizes”. That may be good for a long stagnating style of music like jazz, where it’s looked fondly upon to play other people’s liccs and solos, but the phrase “Repetition legitimizes” is leaning in a way that seems like the disaffected indoctrinees of Fight Club.
A better maxim would be,
“Repetition was good for a while but we’re not A.I. bots incapable of learning about new avenues of evolution as we simmer in combative interesting art.”

I hope I can switch what musicians deliberate on, from musical grammar -> to having a laid back attitude, but for now I’ll settle on the progress I see happening.
Music is one of the things that can’t be misinterpreted like a text message, so its collective value in society as a way of getting together and chilling IS soon to be brought to the forefront of our affect. Probably in the very way you’re hungry for <3 <3 <3
