Here's a Greek song I was originally going to call "In The Oud" because of the Oud instrument I use. I tried to give this song an ancient Greek feel by using the oud and the ney. This song was good practice for writing melodies to go with chords.
It starts out with a oud solo without relying too heavily on the harmonic minor or phrygian dominant scale...
and gets really cheery...
the oud gets more exposure...
and harmonizes with the ney...
The oud plays a dissonant almost metal-esque riff to create a spooky harmony with the ney...
the chords then come in and mingle with a few ney melodies...
and finishes out with a slap bass to highlight the previous chords...
