The Zodiac Ringtones

Does your sign sing true?

A client of mine told me to read a book called “The Celestine Prophecy”.
I scanned through it briefly and thought it looked too fantastical.
Then I started reading it. I started to get into it.
Have you ever noticed that sometimes things just line up? Like you’ll get a call from someone you were just thinking about, or you’ll come across a book that seems to match exactly what is happening in your life? Well that book taught me exactly that - to look out for coincidences.
Probably the very same week that I started reading “The Celestine Prophecy” spawned the idea of these “Zodiac” ringtones.

He and I were talking about how certain designs (like the circle of 5th’s in music theory, or the Pythagorean Theorem in Geometry) were invented by genius’s and have advanced art, science, and philosophy with these universal tools. Then we speculated as to whether anyone had made one for the stars…

The next time we met, my client showed me a chart of the astrological constellations. We both agreed that they were pretty cool to see. Like “The Celestine Prophecy” said, “You must clearly define your questions in life before you, quite predictably, get your answers from life.” So we had our question then clearly defined:

What can we do now with the star chart?

The next time we met, he showed me a design of his that looked like a triangle with a tail on the bottom. I noticed it was gridded into 12 sections. I asked him,
-“Did you know there would be 12 sections on this before you made it?” He said no. -“What a coincidence!” I said. “What?” He asked, intrigued. -“There are exactly 12 notes in a musical scale!” I excitedly told him.

We had found a portion of the answer to our question; write the 12 notes into the triangles and use the device for the star chart…

But now, do what with the star chart?

We were stuck. I come from a musical background and he comes from a visual art background - that’s all we knew.
One of us said something like,
“What if we could play the stars?”
That was the epiphany moment. We cut a small hole in the triangular device so we could see a star on the star chart through it. He then had the idea to rotate the device around the star, and choose the notes that line up (on the grid) to each smaller star. I said,
“Wouldn’t it be cool if we could get a small riff for each constellation?”
He said yes it would.
Then we turned those notes into riffs. (He chose the notes, I harmonized and orchestrated them; as he likes to say.)

That’s what I’m presenting to you today: The 12 Zodiac Ringtones - one for each sign. With some help from our friends and computer savvy people, him and I have made that vision a reality.

I hope your sign sings true…that is, I hope you can identify with your own zodiac sign on a more personal and deeper level, and I hope they’ll spark conversations and good times with your friends!
